About Us

Three decades of clinical expertise, two decades of developing solutions for unmet medical needs  and one serendipitous meeting seeded the founding of EIGENSKIN.

Betty was a Cal engineer. She started her early career working on the technologies endemic to the Silicon Valley at the time- ink jet printers and silicon wafers.

After completing her thesis research on skin, Betty pursued her interest in medical applications, first developing a novel drug delivery platform that simplified medicine regimens to a once daily pill.

Following her work in big pharma, Betty returned to the Boston area to join an entrepreneurial venture in consumer care, where she found a new fervor for rolling up her sleeves and wearing different hats in the product commercialization process.

John studied microbiology at Stanford. He is a board certified dermatologist whose clinical practice served the local community for the better part of two decades.

Today, he advises start-up companies, serves on their boards and analyzes healthcare investments. His patient experiences continue to inform his approach to assessing unmet need and value creation.

After leaving behind their intense rivalry on the football field, John and Betty quickly recognized the mutual passion they share for helping people with the most fundamental skin challenges- itchy, dry, barrier impaired skin.

These challenges are a distraction from their ability to serve their community, their families and their loved ones.

EIGENSKIN was founded on the fusion of clinical insight and product development expertise to deliver tools that help people own their own skin again.
